Requirements & Expectations:

• Minimum 6 months security experience preferably working at tough sites in Downtown Eastside Vancouver.
• Speak, read and write fluent English, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. High-quality comprehensive reports required for every shift.
• Physically fit to patrol long distances continuously, climb stairs, and conduct regular evictions of trespassers.
• Pleasant demeanor with a professional and well-groomed image.
• Customer-service focused, team player, with strong attention to detail.
• Positive, outgoing personality; a self-starter with high initiative.
• Class 5 Driver’s Licence with clean abstract.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor First Aid calls and assess treatment as required.
• Maintain First Aid supplies (emergency kits, oxygen tanks, wheelchairs, etc.).
• Monitor OFA email and prepare relevant paperwork.
• Ensure facility security (interior and exterior).
• Identify and report unusual activity, persons, or facility damage.
• Provide access and escort for clients and contractors.
• Provide building lockdown and crowd control during protests.
• Unlock/lock retail washrooms per schedule and act as floor warden in emergencies.

Certification Requirement:

** Intermediate First Aid Certification (previously Occupational First Aid Level 2) or higher.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct mobile and foot patrols using assigned company vehicles.
• Responsible for the care and working order of company vehicles.
• Inspect client property against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal activity.
• Deter criminal activity and unwanted behavior.
• Respond to alarm calls in a timely manner.
• Write detailed incident and mobile reports for all site visits and alarm responses.
• Contact authorities and operations representatives as per shift orders.
• Train guards on sites and audit their performance and deportment.
